About Mark

Mark Plants was the elected prosecuting attorney in Kanawha County for 6 years and an assistant prosecuting attorney for 2 years.  As a prosecutor he handled all levels of cases from felony to misdemeanor cases.  Before being a prosecutor, Mark was an attorney at Kay Casto & Chaney where he handled civil matters including general insurance litigation, premises liability, consumer protection actions, and contract disputes.  Before graduating from the West Virginia University College of Law Mark was a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in Charleston, W.Va.  He graduated West Virginia University College of Business and Economics earning a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and a minor in Economics.  While at WVU, Mark was a 4 year letterman for the Mountaineers football team under head coach Don Nehlen.
